Photo of the Day: Sightseeing in KL

Image
This week or I say today's photo would be photos taken during my third trip to KL. Well, actually, I don't remember whether it's the third or fourth since I've traveled to KL quite a few times already, once or twice where I just pass through the city or maybe just stayed in the airport for a few hours. The photos I took are taken when I was together with the group from my university. We just finished with our percussion competition so we had some time to go sightseeing. It was our second time as a team to come here in KL. We went window shopping as usual since we don't have much money but we did buy some stuff. We were only able to visit Sungei Wang Plaza as well as visiting Petaling Street where they sell a lot of things including shoes (I don't know if they look original or not). I wasn't able to document the journey where we have to walk our way just to reach certain places. If we knew that it's just a minute walk to that place we would have done so. ...

Day 9: Barbecued Ham Meat

Image
Six months ago, I went to a small village together with some nurses and doctors to help give a health screening. The village is called Rompon village. It's a nice village near a river. As we were reaching the junction to the village. We saw people barbecuing meat. When we saw what meat there were selling we were quite surprise. They were selling pork. I found out that selling pork is a common thing. Some villagers also found this food very delicious especially if they added spices and barbecue them. I don't eat pork. Although people say they are really good, much more better than chicken but due to health issues, I don't eat. Besides, my religion forbids us to eat pork. By the way, here's a photo of a man barbecuing some of the S alai Daging Babi or Smoked Pig Meat.

Day 8: Trip to Penang

Image
Last year, on the 1st of June, my family and I when to Kek Lok Si Temple. This a famous temple in Penang, Malaysia. We actually arrived there earlier which is on the 29th but we only were only able to visit the surrounding areas later that day. Also, we went shopping on the 30th and 31th of May. It was my sister's graduation that weekend so after the last day of graduation we went sightseeing around Penang. This state has a lot of attractions of its own. These includes the Fort Cornwalis, Gurney Drive (place of eating), Penang Hill (where you can see almost all the city in the island), and others. There are actually a lot of other attractions as well shopping complex, such as the Gurney Plaza and KOMTAR. By the way, here's the picture which caught my attention while visiting Kek Lok Si Temple. In this photo is the saying of people of Malaysia used. That's what makes us unique. Although, another country, Singapore, also seems to be using this kind of slang.
