The best time is NOW
I haven't been blogging for a while now but any time is better. I know that this is what I like to do during my spare time but most of the time I'm away playing games, watching Hollywood movies, Korean dramas, Japanese anime and, of course, study. At this time around, I'm revising my lessons for my examination. It's almost the end of the semester and I'll be done with my studies for the semester.
For the past few months, I've been taking a lot of photos, narrowing down the size of my laptop's HDD to less than 2 GBs. I've dream of getting another external HDD but never got enough cash to actually buy one. Being away from home sure is hard sometimes. That happens when you don't have enough cash to buy food or buy something expensive like clothes or laptop equipment. Even greater things like a new lens or a flash gun. Surely, I kind of envy those who are working now and have those big things they use to take photos. Nevertheless, I simply feel that having one is enough for me. It's not like I'm working now that I can own those big accessories.
Being the university's editor for this year's yearbook sure is pretty hard already. Earlier this year I was appointed as one of the student council and my task was to make the yearbook. Seriously, just because I'm a photographer doesn't mean that I can actually make a yearbook all by myself. But since their mindset is all out photos, I was chosen for that particular task. I never had any experience of actually being an editor. All I know is to take photos. Probably I may have some experience in photojournalism but that's not the case. (I guess).
Right now, I'm having trouble looking for a studio lighting equipment. This is my first attempt to make sure that the photos that my group will take for portraiture session will come out nice. I'm not sure which brand that I should try out. I've seen some people using Elinchrom brand for studio lighting and it sure looks nice. One of the model I was looking into is Elinchrom D-2/4 Lite kit. I wonder if any photographers out that have any experience on this model. I heard that the softbox thing isn't that great. Another studio lighting is a Thai brand. You can look it here. It's called Excella. Not sure if any people outside Thailand ever use this brand. I haven't heard any reviews from local Thai photographers either.
Oh well, I'll probably try to look into those equipment later when I finish with my examination. Just hope I will do them well.
