An Amateur's Point of View

The next morning, we had to leave early for the bus to Udon which would take us about 2-3 hours from Vientiane plus we had to pass through the Immigration at the border which would take us a few minutes. However, we were late for the first bus and Billy decided that he will bring us to his favorite cafe. I forgot the name of the place but the food there is really cheap and very delicious. We went some time sightseeing before going to the bus station to wait for the bus to Udon. After bidding farewell to our friend, Billy, we hop on to the bus going to Udon. We saw that Laos is still developing and much of its parts are the countryside. At the border, there are a lot of Thais, Lao and other foreigners getting their passport stamp. I couldn't sleep much on the bus because of the disturbing sound from the bus. So the rest of the story was traveling on the bus to go back to our university in Muak Lek, Saraburi. The next day was Saturday. we went to see the main SDA church in Vientiane. It was very close to where we lived. It was possible if we could have walked if only we knew where the church was located. We got to meet new friends as well as friends that we have not seen for a long time. After church we had traditional Lao food on which we had to use our hands to eat except that we weren't given any plates. That afternoon we were invited to join the church members to visit a village on which some villagers will be baptize. Its near a big lake and the river flowing into it was fast. We got to see some people fishing as well as take a bath in the waterfall.  That evening we got to eat at the same restaurant we went the first evening. This time we ate something different. I chose to eat some garlic breads and try eating lasagna. It was really good. Billy rushed us since we got to go to the next place. The next place was at Swensen's. Just after the examination week on the last week of September I was on this amazing trip to Laos. I couldn't imagine that after just finishing my first semester at AIU I could travel to other place. I guess it's a dream come true. All this while I've been dreaming of traveling to other places. Since I'm in Thailand I could travel to the nearest AsEAN countries without much things to do.  Thank God that I have a friend, Billy, who's from Laos and he's tourguiding us around Vientiane city. We left our university campus at about 10pm Thursday night and arrived at the border of Thailand-Laos at about 5.30am Friday. The night trip was good because it was night and we could sleep quite well (especially me).
