Travel Destination: Laos (part 1)
Just after the examination week on the last week of September I was on this amazing trip to Laos. I couldn't imagine that after just finishing my first semester at AIU I could travel to other place. I guess it's a dream come true. All this while I've been dreaming of traveling to other places. Since I'm in Thailand I could travel to the nearest AsEAN countries without much things to do.
Thank God that I have a friend, Billy, who's from Laos and he's tourguiding us around Vientiane city. We left our university campus at about 10pm Thursday night and arrived at the border of Thailand-Laos at about 5.30am Friday. The night trip was good because it was night and we could sleep quite well (especially me). My two other friends couldn't sleep that well though.
Right after we arrived at the border, we signed our documents in the immigration office and then we got to cross the well-known bridge - the Friendship Bridge. It was fun looking at the surrounding places.
The first thing we did was to go to my friend's school. We got to know that his parents are the owner of the private school and the school has close to 1,000 students. Could you imagine that? They had classes from pre-school right up to Grade 9 (if i'm not mistaken). After that we went to our place of stay of which it's an apartment prepared by Billy's parents. Since there were only two of us - me and my Malaysian friend, Abednigo, we got to enjoy the luxurious life in Vientiane for 3 days. That Friday we got to roam around in Billy's Toyota Hilux. It was fun looking at monuments as well as other buildings. At night, Billy brought his friend, Leena, to join together for dinner. We went to this Swedish bakery where we ate some sphagetti and eat other food. Abed was commenting that the food was delicious and the price was cheaper compare to Bangkok.
